On the morning of April 6, 2018, an installation by anonymous artists appeared in an 8'x10' room on the 3rd floor of the Canaday Technology Center at Walla Walla University.
The installation turned an awkwardly tall an narrow room into a stacked pair of cozy spaces. The pair of spaces was split above the doorframe, creating a cozy and roomy space below, and a snug space above with room to sit up comfortably.
The two static spaces were connected by a vertical ladder allowing movement through a hole in the floor. On each level, lamps and the brick and wood materials created warm gentle lighting environments.
This installation embodied the principle of Design as "moving something from the current state to a preferred state."
